Apart from that, It's just a place that's fondly in our hearts.

I hope Jon will come back and sort it out at some point, but that's a faint hope. I'm sorry that the site is down, especially because it means stkmain is gone. It's a real shame, I miss that place, but it is what it is. Since then, I guess Jon has had some irreparable server issues, so we're left with what we have today. That was the last interaction I had with Droidz, in late 2020. Myself and the other admins and mods were banned, and we ended up having to get Jon in to remove their powers, and shut the forum down. It all came to a head when I fucked up on the board settings and accidentally gave everyone on the forum mod powers. People quoting the American bill of rights on a website whose most active admin was British, constantly calling us all kinds of offensive slurs, saying that we were (and I quote) 'part of the libcuck agenda'. Of course, this set off the whole 'censorship/free speech' debate, which was infuriating. We feared that being found to be associated with these people could fuck up someone's career, so we did what we could to make sure it wasn't allowed. We all knew each other by name at this point, a lot of us knew where others lived etc.

Myself and the other admins did our best to keep an open dialogue with these people but made it very clear that nazism would not be allowed. Talking about how America was 'doomed to fall into a Jewish ethnostate', how the white man was being pushed to the wayside, how women were nothing more than vessels to be impregnated to continue humanity. Then around 2019 a few members started becoming very loud about their beliefs, which would usually be fine, but they were very much into neo-nazi territory. We had occasional instances of the server going down but we kept going, if nothing else but to keep stkmain alive and because we had all become friends. share got fucked when it happened, and an awful lot of the members either just didn't remake their accounts, or left shortly after the reboot.īy the time the forum was rebooted, the majority of the small community we had had either moved on to bigger and better animating programs, or had stopped animating altogether (I was the latter). The Droidz forum got absolutely full of spam bots in around 2012 (I think) so Jon (the owner) rebooted the whole thing. I realise this post is about a month old but I just realised myself that Droidz is down (probably for good) so I thought I'd let you know a brief history of what happened. I'm Tom, I was an admin on Droidz from 2015ish.
